Decision to abolish domicile across Punjab, permanent address on identity card will be considered as domicile, soon notification is likely to be issued Punjab government has decided to abolish domicile across the province. The decision has been made on the growing complaints of bribery and acquisition of domicile.
The permanent address on the ID card will be considered as domicile. Domicile termination notification will be issued soon.
It should be noted that the introduction of domicile in Pakistan was implemented in 1951 under the Citizens Act which was aimed at issuing citizenship certificates to those who migrated from India.
